is better. “Auntie” is still kicking my ass but I’m maintaining.
I should give a recap on the weekend.
Friday: Left work, went home, grabbed some clothes and hair stuff and headed to the hotel. Two of my girls were at the Embassy Suites downtown. We were all going to the concert together. As soon as I hit the door, I started drinking. LOL! I’m not a lush, I promise. We had some cheap ass Moscato and some other stuff of which I cannot recall the name at the moment (ha!). We were listening to music, bullshitting. We ordered some wings and potato skins. Yum! We also got a SMALL carafe of O.J. to mix with our drinks. Embassy can go to fucking hell charging $9 for that shit! Bastards. LOL. Anyway, we start to get dressed, I’m doing hair and makeup…it’s shit everywhere. We finally get done and then head over to the hotel where Eric and his crew were staying. One of my girls is real cool with all of them so we met up with them to get into the venue…for free. LOL! We get there, they’re still all in the process of getting dressed so we wait. Finally they come down and we’re all standing outside acting retarded while they loaded up the trucks with equipment, etc. Eric is an extremely cool guy. I was expecting him to be all “celebrity” (yes, even as an independent artist) but he was acting up just like we were.
Anyway, we get there and it’s not long before the show starts. OMG, it was so, so, so, so good. I was screaming my head off. LOL! I’m a fairly new Eric Roberson fan but I was thoroughly impressed with his live show. I already love his voice but hearing it in person…whew! The band was great, he had his little comedic interludes in there…it was really good. After the show, Eric was in the hall selling CD’s and meeting his fans so us girls took that opportunity to take completely ignorant pictures while we waited. Then we (my girls, Eric and his crew) all sat around, talked for a while, took more pictures and then we bounced. I didn’t get home until 4:30 am or so. Good times.
Saturday: Did not even FATHOM getting up to do the charity walk. D was pissed because he really wanted to do it. We spent the majority of the day arguing about this. And really…I was at fault. We were supposed to do it and we didn’t because I chose to stay out all night. Yeah…Saturday sucked balls.
Sunday: D’s little sister and niece came over and we all went to the picnic together. It was nice. Free food, free drinks, can’t complain about that. They had a dunk tank there and D dunked a couple of the VP’s. I won $15 playing Bingo. That’s a good half tank of gas right there! I couldn’t win again but I kept playing just in case so D could claim it. What do you know, within the next few games I had another Bingo and D won $15. He didn’t share. LOL! They have a drawing for prizes at the end of the picnic. D won two Cavs shirts and a Cavs throw. One of the grand prizes was 2 plane tickets for use anywhere in the United States. I wish he would have won that shit! LOL!
I’ll post pictures (and maybe a video) from the concert when I get home. Have a good day, yall!
